Addendum

Well what a day we had yesterday!! We had a lovely day at home...everything was going swimmingly (or so we thought). Everyone was feeling better we even managed to have some breakfast and lunch!! (The first time in three days!). We had plans to go out for pizza as a special treat for Ollie and Daddy (who had been craving pizza since taking ill) and we had to get out of the house for a viewing at 5pm. All was going well with Emma getting up at 3:30pm she had time to be breastfed and changed and she was ready to go by the time Ollie woke up from his nap at 4:00pm....We got Ollie dressed and Dad proceeded to vacuum the basement which he had been meaning to do all day.....at approximately 4:30pm...I was holding Ollie about to get him dressed when he started to cough...no sooner had he done that then he started to gag..and guess what....he proceeded to vomit....it was one of those moments...i couldn't decide which was the lesser of two evils. My immediate reaction was to tip him into me so that he would vomit on me instead of the cream coloured carpet...but then my medical mind suggested that perhaps the chance of Ollie aspirating some of the emesis into his lungs would really be the worse scenario...then I thought run down the hallway to the bathroom but then I risked the chance of him continuing to vomit all the way down the hallway...so, do I just stay put and at least have a concentrated area of mess...well we managed to make it to the bathroom where I dumped ollie in the empty bathtub...ran downstairs to tell Dad that vacuuming of the basement was now low on the priority list...so, while Ollie had his second bath of the day Mum proceeded to clean up the mess in the bathroom sink and floor while Dad attempted to clean up the dried cranberry vomitus in the middle of Ollie's bedroom floor!! And a stellar job he did I must say!! Mum greeted the Real estate agent at the door looking slightly haggard with mop in hand telling him of the crisis and that we would be vacating the premesis in minutes. We then had the tough decision of possibly losing the sale of the house by opening all the windows to lose the vomit scent at risk of the people thinking there is some fault with the heating system or do we leave all the windows closed conserving heat but losing the sale due to a strong stench of vomitus?? We opted for the former! Thank you to Donna Appavoo who bought Ollie his sheepskin rug for a shower gift...only a mother would think of something so ingenious since this then managed to completely cover the wet spot leftover from the clean up efforts!!
In the end....it seems we have not sold the house but it was not due to the stench of vomit nor due to the cool temperature on the upper floor. In fact, the real estate agent called us and told us that the couple couldn't believe how lovely the house was, both the women who came to see the house were interior designers or had interest in interior design and they both said they wouldn't have done a thing different. They said to the real estate agent.."you will have no problem selling this house!!" so, all in all...good news despite the fact that we still live at 160 Quebec Street!
Anyway folks...as you can see never a dull moment at the Hawley-Halligan residence!!
Congratulations by the way to our friends Kristi, Pete and Noah Havens who called us yesterday to let us know that we can stop praying for the baby in Kristi's tummy as Kristi has had Olivia!! Both Mum and Baby are safe and sound at home!!
Take care...and stay well...we're going to try our best!!
Rachael, Adam, Ollie and Emma!!
