Nearly Forgot!!

HOw atrocious!! I nearly forgot to report that Emma had her first smile on Day 25 of life (Obviously she didn't want to be outdone by her brother who also smiled on Day 25 of life) however, she has proven to be quite camera shy as she will smile away until the camera comes out! We are finding out that she too is quite a contented little woman who commonly wakes smiling prior to discovering that she is dying of hunger as she has not been fed for three hours when upon this realization she verbalizes it quite well!! Even more importantly (to Mum that is) she slept 8hours in a row last night...unfortunately, it was from 20:30 to 04:30 and instead of having gone to bed when Emma did Mum was reading a book that she couldn't put down...and her brother decided that Mum really didn't need that much sleep and decided to be awake and calling out off and on between the hours of 1-3a.m!!! HOwever, we can only hope this is a trend that will continue.
As you know...Kate is due anyday now...I remember when Kate came over to Canada after Noah and Ollie, I had the younger child and was envious of all the sleep Kate was getting at night...I have every intention of mentioning the long hours of sleep I have when we are visiting the UK this time!!
Here are the only photos that we have managed to get...they do not do her radiant smile any justice really!!
The other photos show that she too has a bit of attitude...look out Ollie when she gains control of her limbs.....she will get you back for all those swats in the early days!!

Christmas Blog

I can't believe I have been beaten to this by the Stott family blog!! I think that is absolutely unheard of!!
Christmas 2006 was a blazing success! Once again, we somehow managed to fit 11 people into our three bedroom house! No mean feat. There were bodies everywhere! Despite the fact that Dave Stott wasn't over, we had a green Christmas. It was more like a british Christmas then a Canadian one. Ollie and I went outside to play with his new trucks on Christmas Day in the dirt...not the snow!! Owing to the fact that life has been rather hectic since November 20th and the weather...it really didn't feel like Christmas!
Ollie had a wonderful Christmas morning. He loved all his gifts so much so that he would open one and then refuse to open anymore until he had a good play with the first. It was hard to be patient enough to go at his pace! He first opened Santa's gifts which included two massive big Tonka Diggers. He then played with these for ages refusing to open anything else. He finally opened his next gift which was a cleaning set..Santa must know how much Ollie likes to use the big floor brush and brought him an Ollie sized version. He then proceeded to sweep up all the mess!! Eventually, he opened his gifts from his grandparents and then that was it...it was Choo-choo central. There was to be no more gift opening until just before bed! Just prior to heading off to bed he opened his gifts from his uncles Mike and John and Auntie Janice! As Janice suspected his head nearly exploded in the excitement of opening his very own "Mowmow" (lawnmower) followed by the two big Tonka Jeeps! We had to wait until boxing day to open the last of the gifts from them which was a kids laptop (a computer even I can figure out with only three buttons). Despite all these new toys and gifts, it seems Ollies favourite pastime over the holidays was to wear everyones shoes. You couldn't take your slippers off or else you'd never know where they would end up!!
Emma had a lovely first Christmas. She ate, slept and ate and slept. Mum did most of the opening of her gifts and I am pleased to say that she has a bit of pink for every age now! I have still yet to put all her pink clothes in the closet...I have to make room for it all!
Well with no further ado I will try and upload a few pics...Looking forward to seeing everyone soon (less then one month until we head over to the UK).
Hope you are all well.
Love
Rachael, Adam, Ollie and Emma
